EAWD'17 - Review

With the motto ‘Revolution or Evolution” around 350 all-wheel drive specialists from automobile manufacturers, suppliers and universities participate at the European All-Wheel Drive Congress 2017 last week. Innovative all-wheel drive solutions, e-mobility and a glance at the future of 4WD were the major topics of the conference in Graz and Spielberg.

Jake Hirsch, President of Magna Powertrain, gave the official welcome for two inspiring and diversified days at two venues that could not have been more different.

The first day of the congress and the accompanying exhibition took place at the Congress Graz. The evening event was held in the Old University of Graz. In those historical buildings, participants enjoyed an outstanding environment for professional exchange and networking.

On the second day, the whole congress moved to the Red-Bull-Ring in Spielberg. Besides exciting speeches, the ride & drives in the field of driving dynamics as well as the test drives on the off-road track were a special highlight. All-wheel drive innovations of various vehicle types could be experienced and tested live. The eDrive demonstrator of Magna Powertrain, packed with the latest developments for electrification, was one of the stars of the test drives, as well as the Mercedes AMG Bolide or the Puch Pinzgauer.

We are already looking forward to the next European All-Wheel Drive Congress and say thank you to all participants, exhibitors and sponsors!
